Senior Satellite Technician

We are looking for Senior Satellite Technicians to install, perform upgrade services and maintenance on large (3+ meter) C-Band Satellite dishes for the radio and TV broadcast industry. In this role, along with an assistant, you will be required to install and mount satellite components and cabling and assist with aiming, troubleshooting, and compiling diagnostic reports.

To be successful as a TBA satellite technician, you should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and precision in your work. Ultimately, a top-notch satellite technician should be able to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and provide excellent customer support.

Senior Satellite Technician Responsibilities:

  • Traveling to broadcast facilities to perform upgrades installations, maintenance, and repairs on satellite systems.
  • Performing site surveys to determine the optimal placement for satellite dish installation.
  • Installing the necessary cables, mounting the satellite hardware, and ensuring that the dish is positioned correctly.
  • Calibrating the equipment to ensure that the connection is secure and the service is functioning correctly.
  • Diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective repairs.
  • Generating diagnostic and repair reports.
  • Providing training to new employees or interns.
  • Ensuring that tools and equipment are safely operated and maintained.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technology and practices in the industry.

Satellite Technician Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
  • GVF certification preferred.
  • At least one year’s experience as a satellite technician or similar.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.  Company vehicle provided.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights.
  • Willingness to work after hours and on weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to be on-the-road 3-5 days per week.

Job Types: Fulltime, Part-Time

Pay: $300-400 per day – Commensurate with experience


Apprentice/Assistance Satellite Technician

We are looking for apprentice/assistant satellite technicians to assist our senior satellite technicians perform satellite antenna upgrade services, and maintenance on large (3+ meter) C-Band satellite dish antennas for the radio and TV broadcast industry as part of a two-person crew.

In this role, you will be traveling to broadcast facilities with our senior satellite technicians to assist in the installation of satellite antenna components and cabling, antenna aiming, troubleshooting, and compiling test and diagnostic reports.

To be successful as an apprentice satellite technician, you should be able to take and follow instruction from the lead technician and learn to anticipate the work flow and needs of each job. You should demonstrate safety-mindedness, problem-solving abilities, efficiency and precision in your work as well as good customer-facing manner and presentation.

Apprentice/Assistant Satellite Technician Responsibilities:

  • Traveling with the senior satellite technician to broadcast facilities throughout the US to assist with upgrades, installation, maintenance, and repairs of satellite antenna dishes
  • Ensuring that tools and equipment are available as needed, safely operated and properly maintained.
  • Setup and installation of dish antennas cabling, mounting antenna components and hardware, and assisting in proper dish orientation.
  • Assisting with the diagnosis of technical issues and implementing effective repairs.
  • Assisting with preparing diagnostic and repair reports.

Apprentice/Assistant Satellite Technician Requirements:

  • No previous satellite experience is necessary but a degree of technical/mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are a must to operate our company provided service vehicles.
  • Physically fit, able to lift/carry 65 lbs. and be able to work at heights.
  • At least a high school diploma or GED is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work after hours and on weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to be on-the-road 3-5 days per week.

Pay: $130.00 – $150.00 per day
